Elizabeth Yeampierre

Elizabeth C. Yeampierre is a nationally recognized Puerto Rican attorney and environmental justice leader of African and Indigenous ancestry born and raised in New York City. She is Executive Director of UPROSE, Brooklyn’s oldest Latino community-based organization. Prior, Ms. Yeampierre was director of Legal Education and Training at the Puerto Rican Legal Defense Fund.  Her keynote highlighted the pressing issues surrounding the work of environmental justice, and how students can engage in this work to promote equitable global practices.
