Build skills in the collections

Many on-campus jobs will give you direct access to Beloit’s unique and rich collections. You can also conduct independent research with the materials you discover.

• Archives Assistants help to make Beloit’s history and archival records accessible to researchers and students. 
• Museum Assistants work collaboratively with museum staff to catalog and research collections, develop and install exhibits, and design and deploy programs.
• Work in the Costume shop, sewing clothing and managing the collection.

Practice communicating

• Student workers in the Communication and Marketing office hone their skills by writing for the website and the alumni magazine.
• Student interns in the Institutional Research, Assessment, and Planning office gain experience interpreting and visualizing data.
• Become a writing tutor at the Writing Center. Take the WRIT 230 class to become eligible to apply for the job.
• Learn interpretive writing techniques transferrable to multiple professional pathways by curating in-person and online exhibits at the Wright Museum of Art and Logan Museum of Anthropology.

Become professionally agile

• Students work in paid internships each summer through the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, where you can gain hands-on experience in all aspects of running a major arts center, including exhibitions, business, finance, and marketing.
• Students gain real professional experiences through paid internships at non-profits across Wisconsin each summer through the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities’ Nonprofit Internship Program.
